On almost every song change, it crashes with this message:

No matter what song, whether it is minimised or not, whether it is spotify, or spotify-beta.

I had the same problem when using spotify-beta. I went back to spotify 0.8.4.103-1 in AUR and everytime before launching spotify, I would clear its cache by
rm -r ~/.cache/spotify
I haven't had any crash after doing that. I'm not sure if that is the fix, but it worked well for me.

I did something similar. I added a cronjob which deletes ~/.cache/spotify/Storage/index.dat file every one minute.
This is because I found out that Spotify will crash even if the file has been deleted upon launch, if it run for long time.

Damn it, it doesn't help anymore.
