First install error when testing X

I have installed arch in a VM using VirtualBox. I am following the Beginners' Guide and have got as far as this line in the 'Test X' section:

To start the (test) Xorg session, run:

$ startx -- vt$(fgconsole)

After logging in as the non-root user and executing this code the following error is displayed:

(I have taken a screenshot as despite a lot of googling I have yet been unable to work out how to copy the text in the terminal. I was unable to install guest additions (see screenshot at bottom)

I'm sure it would be better to paste the whole log file. I would be grateful with help in doing this.

Thanks.

After clicking 'install guest additions':

Re: First install error when testing X

I hope you didn't install a video driver (open source or otherwise).

Note: If you installed Arch as a VirtualBox guest, you don't need to install a video driver. See Arch Linux guests for installing and setting up Guest Additions, and jump to the configuration part below.

I have made a personal commitment not to reply in topics that start with a lowercase letter. Proper grammar and punctuation is a sign of respect, and if you do not show any, you will NOT receive any help (at least not from me).

Re: First install error when testing X

As far as I know, no. I installed the 'virtualbox-guest-utils' package.

Re: First install error when testing X

I have the same problem as of this afternoon. My guess is it has to do with the new xorg-server package which was released today.

I started X without problems this morning but after installing the latest packages, my X doesn't start, giving me the same error.

I'm also running arch as a guest in VirtualBox. I guess we either have to wait for a new virtualbox-guest-utils package or downgrade some xorg packages.
