Intel - Xorg - Wrong Resolution

My native resolution is 1440x990_75.00. When I updated to xorg-server-1.12.4 xorg started setting the resolution to 1400x1050_60.00. I use KDE and after changing the resolution back to native through System Settings everything is sluggish and there are graphical glitches. I downgraded and ignored it until xorg-server-1.13.0, but upgrading to that causes the exact same issue. I tried creating a xorg.conf with the following but it didn't work:

Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "LVDS0"
    Modeline "1440x990_75.00" 136.75 1440 1536 1688 1936 900 903 909 942 -Hsync +Vsync
    Option "PreferredMode" "1440x990_75.00"
EndSection

I've downgraded back down to xorg-server-1.12.3.901, but I can't use that forever and I'm unsure how to proceed. Thanks for any help.

Re: Intel - Xorg - Wrong Resolution

There's a bug report about KDE and mesa https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/32016 : slowdown and tearing on Intel HD3000.

Re: Intel - Xorg - Wrong Resolution

I'm using mesa 9.0 and don't experience this, only when I upgrade Xorg. Also, I don't think this applies to me as the problem started with xorg-server-1.12.4 which hit stable repos on Aug 27, while mesa was updated to 9.0 a week ago. I also have Intel 965 if that makes any difference. Thanks for your reply.
