I have an epson c86 and while it prints using gimp-print, I can't figure out how to align the printer. Any help would be great.

Ok I tried escputil, and when I enter this
escputil -a -m c84
Nothing happens, so I figured it might be because my printer is a c86(which isn't listed as a model) I tried this
escputil -a -r /dev/lp0
when I do that it says it cannot identify my printer. I'm completely at a loss here as to what I'm supposed to do.

what sort of problems are you having as in what exactly do you need to align ?

The printer cartridge needs alignment.

what are the symptoms of the mis-alignment. is the page off-centre or are the colours out of sync with each other?
If you can give specific symptoms of the problem, maybe we can look at the config file.
Have you imported a ppd driver at all ? afaik the C86 is supported ok.
if you want to check it out, its in the /etc/cups/ppd directory there should be some sort of config / driver for the C86.
before you tinker, be sure to back the file up to a different name.
