I must be missing a screw or something.. where've all the normal SATA chipset-specific options gone in the my .config? I've got an nforce2 mobo and a silicon image SATA hdd, so I need to enable support for them, but the options aren't there. Have I somehow disabled them with another kernel option because they're experimental?
Under SCSI Devices --> Low-Level Drivers I've enabled SATA Support, and under this there are about 5 suboptions like Promise Support. The usual miriad of many options for individual chipsets is gone.

If you configure your kernel using xconfig, you can go to the menu at the top and select "show all" from the menu to show all of the tree that would otherwise be hidden. If it still is not there, check your source.

You're a star aikidoist72; I suspect that's the problem, since the drivers are all EXPERIMENTAL, I think. Cheers buddy
