I'm trying to get uvesafb to work, however, it does not list the proper resolution for my monitor:
I have a 1080p monitor that is capiable of 1920x1080-32

You don't. You can only use what's in the vbios of your graphic card. If the resolution you want isn't in there, you're out of luck.

One last question -- what about using something like the 915resolution hack?

If you have intel graphics, why are you messing with uvesafb? Intel has a KMS driver.
If you don't have intel graphics, i915resolution won't work because it is, as the name implies, for intel. It's a relic from the pre-KMS days, totally obsolete nowadays.
