Cannot see Arduino on serial port

I'm having trouble finding the serial port being used by my arduino.

System is uptodate

dmesg gives
    usb 4-1: new full-speed USB device number 11 using uhci_hcd

ls /dev
    don't see any change between arduino board plugged or un plugged

I see
    /dev/bus/usb/004/011
corresponding to the Arduino

sudo modprobe uhci_hcd
    did nothing

brltty i not installed on my system

The Arduino board works well.
It's not a usb cable problem.
The Arduino is detected with a live medium (SolusOS).

I really don't know what to check now. Any idea?
