I have a logitech microphone, that usbview/lsusb reports as AK5370. By all accounts, the snd-usb-audio should be loading when I plug this in, but it doesn't budge. No driver is loaded, and thus the system doesn't recognize this as a microphone. Does anyone know why this might be so? Here's the output of lsusb:

Just a hunch:

│ This module is turned off in our kernel by default. I could be wrong, but you may want to build the kernel with this module enabled and see if it helps.

The solution is a kernel build?! Yuck.
Is this a recent change? I have arch running on my netbook (a fairly recent build) that resolves the driver just fine. It must be something that has been turned off recently?

As I said, it is just a guess. You had not mentioned that you had a different Arch install using the device.
You might try looking at what modules are loaded on the netbook versus those on the machine in question.
Besides? What is so yucky about a kernel rebuild ? (Hint: I use Gentoo as well as Arch
)
