[SOLVED] No audio after upgrading

[Im not really sure about this]-->After upgrading kernel 3.6.4-1 audio stopped working, neither the headphones

I try alsamixer, everything seem fine

vMwPB.png?1

So here might be the problem

$ aplay -l
**** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
card 1: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC272 Analog [ALC272 Analog]
  Subdevices: 1/1
  Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
$ alsactl init
Found hardware: "USB-Audio" "USB Mixer" "USB0ac8:c412" "" ""
Hardware is initialized using a generic method

I edit the /etc/asound.conf
adding this

defaults.pcm.card 1
defaults.pcm.device 0
defaults.ctl.card 1

No luck

All modules are working

$ lsmod | grep '^snd' | column -t
snd_hda_codec_realtek  61065   1
snd_usb_audio          102808  1
snd_usbmidi_lib        18744   1   snd_usb_audio
snd_rawmidi            18479   1   snd_usbmidi_lib
snd_seq_device         5268    1   snd_rawmidi
snd_hda_intel          26180   3
snd_hda_codec          98033   2   snd_hda_codec_realtek,snd_hda_intel
snd_hwdep              6300    2   snd_usb_audio,snd_hda_codec
snd_pcm                75167   3   snd_usb_audio,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_intel
snd_page_alloc         7217    2   snd_pcm,snd_hda_intel
snd_timer              18934   1   snd_pcm
snd                    59989   18  snd_hda_codec_realtek,snd_usb_audio,snd_hwdep,snd_timer,snd_pcm,snd_rawmidi,snd_usbmidi_lib,snd_hda_codec,snd_hda_intel,snd_seq_device

Any ideas?

Re: [SOLVED] No audio after upgrading

I had a similar problem, but I upgraded more than the kernel and downgrading to 3.6.3 didn't help. I thought it might be systemd related (hadn't gotten around to switching from initscripts) because of the recent news items and because I could play audio outside of X. Or maybe it was just that my user was in the audio group (which probably helps outside X, but apparently it can cause trouble with other permission policies).

Anyway, I was going to switch to systemd regardless, so I did that immediately (and without any trouble) and also removed myself from groups like audio/video, and everything is fine.

Re: [SOLVED] No audio after upgrading

I already switch to systemd, and remove myself from audio group but still no audio :c

Re: [SOLVED] No audio after upgrading

you seem to be using pulseaudio, so you shouldn't mess with /etc/asound.conf. instead, install pulseaudio-alsa which provides a /etc/asound.conf. Also your audio devices in the alsamixer are all muted, hit "m" to unmute.
