The thing is in super duper early closed beta, so there is a lot of bugs.

$DEBUGGER, $STEAMROOT, $PLATFORM, etc. aren't environment variables. They are variables defined in the script and as such are not accessible outside of the script.

Don't expect the client to be usable for at least a few months.
