Audio Jack Not Working, Speakers Are Fine

I recently installed Arch for the first time on my HP DV6 laptop.  I had been using Ubuntu for around five years and never had this issue.  Playing sound works fine from the speakers, but it is muted when I plug in my headphones.  I pulled up the sound preferences pane and it seems to recognize when I plug and unplug the headphones, but even after searching online, I am unable to find a solution.

Is there some setting by default with ALSA that mutes headphones?  Does anyone know what I should try?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Audio Jack Not Working, Speakers Are Fine

Have you tried configuring ALSA ?

Maybe have a look at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ad … Sound_Card or The ALSA entry in generel.

I had this problem with my laptop and had to configure /ect/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf to get sound from headphones.
