it is running too fast, my music sounds too high, sound is perfect on any other player...
I like the simplicity of mpd and the fact I can change sessions and not loose what I'm listening, BUT it dont sound right ,too high ,too fast.
here is the config file any ideas.

this generally has to do with setting the audio_output_format, but it's commented out in your configuration. are all tracks affected? do you have any 48khz tracks?
best to search the mpd forums for this.

nah all bitrates fail.. thanks I'l go try their forums
update this is needed for any card that uses ac97 intel(again)

its fixed just needed to amend the config as i put in

now alsa quality, no oss crackle!!

I use my onboard nVIDIA SoundStorm with the binary drivers from nVIDIA which are OSS, and I get Dolby Digital and no crackling. I have gotten the crackling before, but OSS does not mean crackly.

wasn't dissing oss ,and I am sure there are set ups that it works on and works well.
mine aint one of them, but alsa now supports the card quite well
i was not implying that all oss drivers crackle, just the one's needed by my systemx
