can uefi linux be installed on usb hard disk

I want to install uefi archlinux on usb hard disk. Is this possible?

Theoretically, yes. In practice, this will depend on the firmware's support for your USB devices. Such support is usually present, but might be absent for something like a plug-in USB card. If you can boot a USB-based installer in EFI mode, then it should be possible to install a full distribution on a USB device.
