Hello everyone,
I've just done a reinstall of my archlinux. Now I am trying to set everything up the right way from the beginning.
I am using MATE as my DE and started to add my favorite applications under "system->setting->prefered applications" or something like that (I am on a german locale, so i dont know exactly what it says in english). I used the AUR to install Google's picasa for my pictures, but it didn't show in the above settings screen. So my question is: Is there a way to make picasa apear in the list or is there a way to set it as a standard application in some other way?
Hope everyone understands what I mean.
kind regards

mimeopen -d anyfile.jpg then select your preferred application.
The package which provides "mimeopen" is "perl-file-mimeinfo".
EDIT: you may need to do this for every file like png, gif etc.
