Also, there are:
A new dependence: nepomuk-widgets
A new game: kdegames-picmi

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE SC 4.10

Hm, kwallet is still not replaced by ksecretservice. The only reason this is actually disappointing is because when I once read the bugreport in 4.4 or so about logging in with kdm doesn't unlock kwallet the consensus was that it wasn't worth implementing pam stuff in kwallet because it would be obsoleted by ksecrets "soon"...

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE SC 4.10

not is a bug, but its a BIG trouble.

now uses udisks2 to manage mount location. now dolphin mount disks in "/run/media/$user" instead /media. this is a problem when uses ktorrent or other program when the location of downloads point view in older path. need use "sed" to change old path to new path, this is a pain of eggs. other progras used internal/encripted files to configure that paths and need change by hand (example directconnect client, i have hashed +7Tb of files... re-hashing all files is a BRRRRR)

any solution to back to use /media instead /run/media without patch udisks2 and rebuild all?

The change is intentional due to security concerns, so it will not be possible to configure/revert.

However, you have a valid point that the upgrade may be somewhat of a PITA. I'd solve it by adding symlinks locally. If you have a single-user system you could just symlink /media to /run/media/$user and things should just work. If you have devices owned by multiple users, then I guess you'd need multiple symlinks, /media/<device1> -> /run/media/<user1>/<device1>.

Does that work for you?

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE SC 4.10

in ktorrent no, need renplace paths by hand ( find . -type f -exec sed -i -r "s|/media|/run/media/$USER|" {} +) in /home/$USER/.kde4/share/apps/ktorrent (if make symbolic link the program say need mount /media/"drive")

in eiskaltdcpp (directconnect) don't test, need more workground

The folderview plasmoid looks exactly like in 4.9. The nicest visual improvement IMO is the notifications, they look really smooth and nice.

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE SC 4.10

With kwin 4.9 opengl compositing and intel ivy bridge with sna acceleration I had problems with flash video on fullscreen, sometimes the whole screen would become a uniform grey and get stuck and only restarting X would help (with uxa it worked correctly). This is now gone with this 4.10 beta, no problems with sna anymore except some slight graphical corruption here and there while switching chromium tabs etc. So in the end it maybe wasn't even a driver bug, but a kwin problem.

I don't know if I like this behaviour: On a maximized window grabbing the title bar and pulling down is unmaximizing the window. Now, grabbing the very top pixel row and pulling down results in the window being unmaximized and additionally being resized...

edit: quicksand has some serious slowdowns. Searching for "fire" was fine, but searching for prefixes of "screenshot" is really slow. edit2: disabled some modules and now it's acceptable again...

edit3: Whoa, the small things. The lockscreen displays the unlock mask on all connected screens. Finally!

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE SC 4.10

looks like I've found a bug.
If you set the "simple locker" in systemsettings->display and monitor->screen locker, after locking and unlocking the screen a black screen appears and you need to kill X to restore your desktop.
Can someone confirm?

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE SC 4.10

The "simple locker" was set for me from the beginning and unlocking worked several times without an issue now.

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE SC 4.10

Hm, the "desktop widgets" locker isn't really thought through I think. You have to configure it like you would configure a standard plasma desktop, but it seems you can't resize the plasmoids and you have to do it without a window manager... So some text inputs like the city chooser from the weather plasmoid don't work. Also, the folder view for choosing the "dia show" folder is broken, half-transparent white until you right click on the correct spot.

If you forget to lock the widgets on your lock screen it is trivial for someone to find a file chooser and do arbitrarily evil stuff. Also, if any of the plasmoids allows to open a file chooser you loose to. Also, if you use the "dia show" background people just need to right click and they can open a folder view. Also, if you click switch user, the login mask just gets kind of flat and wide and is impossible to recover (I'm even using kdm!).

Killing plasma and kwin recovers your ability to unlock (+1 because even if plasma and kwin crashes the lock screen is still there) but with compositing kwin is at the moment seriously broken, won't let me switch windows correctly and moving windows kind of hangs. I think I need to restart X now...

Nice idea but for a beta it is pretty poorly implemented I think. Feels more like a concept demo.

Re: [kde-unstable] KDE SC 4.10

I still can't open remote files with Dolphin. It always copies them locally first. Is this a bug or a feature?
