Looks like there is an error in the udev rules re: the P1102w printer:
86-hpmud-hp_laserjet_professional_p1102w.rules: Error? ATTRS{idProduct}=="002a"
Apparently the HP folk have introduced the "Smart Install" feature in some printers but it is not supported in Linux drivers. It can only be disabled from a Windoze machine, before the printer becomes compatible with Linux. So now I have to buy and install Windoze on my machine - or buy a new printer, different make I suppose.
The strange thing is that it used to work very well previously, but the drivers must have been changed recently.....
