Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

Hi, I think U should take a look at the news, Fontconfig 2.10.1 update - manual intervention required
Your errors look like you didn't update for a while.;)

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

I'll check what's wrong with this, but „I've instaled Arch about a month ago” and I'm updating it quite recently.

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

Well, it just looked like that because of the fontconfig errors.
Maybe you used an older iso, and didn't notice the fontconfig update??
If it's not that, than I haven't got a clue:(

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

Did you checked if nouveau is not loaded at startup?

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

I'm not sure what you mean. I've neither installed nouveau, nor setting it load at startup.

When installing Arch, I was using iso announced here https://www.archlinux.org/news/november … available/ .

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

I mean nouveau kernel module, which is shipped with kernel, not nouveau-dri module, which is userspace component. By default is loaded by kernel, if it's not blacklisted. You could check this with:

# lsmod | grep nouveau

If there's nouveau somewhere unload it with:

# rmmod nouveau

and load nvidia module:

# modprobe nvidia

Now try if it works (optirun minecraft etc...), if yes then you should blacklist nouveau from loading. In directory: /etc/modprobe.d create file nouveau.conf with:

blacklist nouveau

and then you could run

mkinitcpio -p linux

for recreating initramfs just to be sure, that nothing left from old video driver.

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

Hmm, could you post your:
1. bumblebee.conf
2. xorg.conf.nvidia
3. Result of command:

# dmesg | grep nvidia

The first two files should be in /etc/bumblebee or similar directory (sorry, but in this moment I don't have access to my laptop with bumblebee and can't check exact name), last entry it's just kernel log entries related to nvidia module.

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

Hmm, not good, I've got the same configuration and I'm started to running out of ideas. You could want to see:
https://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/Bu … issues/172
There's some information about isseses people have with 650m, maybe there will be some useful comments about this, one of it was trying to set:

Option "UseDisplayDevice" "none"

in xorg.conf.nvidia. Maybe this will work for you, because your Xorg.8.log ends in place in which I've got info about probing EDID on display device, but this is a very log shot.

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

Let me guess, you have a Lenovo or Toshiba laptop? Have a look at https://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/bbswitch/issues/2 and https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/acpi … enovo-git/

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

Lenovo G780 smile

No success.

I'm reading now info on bbswitch Git, where there is

Get the status:

# cat /proc/acpi/bbswitch
0000:01:00.0 ON

but in my case

[wicu@arch:~]$ cat /proc/acpi/bbswitch
cat: /proc/acpi/bbswitch: Nie ma takiego pliku ani katalogu //no such file and directory

Is there something wrong, or just in Arch default location is somewhere else (where?)?

@Druedain what have you tried? The Lenovo G780 is one of the affected machines. Read https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Le … VIDIA_Card

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

Do you rebuild kernel module after updating kernel?

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

Kernel module?

Reinstalled lenovo-hack and now works.

Any suggestions for the future to have Nvidia working after kernel updates?

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

You have to simply:

# dkms autoinstall

to rebuild modules and then after rebooting system everything shoud be fine.
Also if you using systemd then you could enable service: dkms.service
and whit old SysV there should be ,,dkms_autionstall'' you could add to your rc.conf

Re: [Bumblebee]Failed to initialize the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0.

Ok, understand smile . I did this without any result. That's why I'm asking now what else should I do after kernel upgrade.
