Hi.
After upgrade to gnome v. 3.6 I have the following problem:
When I press alt+shift, layout switches not immediately, but with delay of about 1-2 seconds. When typing, the result looks like this - фкchlinux.
Does anyone have this issue? And does anyone know how to fix it?
Thank you!

Hi,
I have this problem too.
After migration to systemd and full upgrade I found that I can't switch languages anymore. I've looked into gnome-control-center and discovered that it's not possible to bind Menu or Alt+Shift for layout switching (only Alt+0 or something like that).
I've tried to use qxkb but it looks like qxkb and some gnome tool conflict with each other -- qxkb bindings disappear after ~20 minutes.
After that I set layout switch binding with gnome-tweak-tool and have the same delay

I've disabled bindings in gnome-tweak-tool, opened dconf-editor and manually set org/gnome/desktop/xkb-options to ['grp:toggle,caps:swapescape,grp_led:scroll,lv3:lwin_switch'].
It's all work for me now.

No, that doesn't work for me.

No, that doesn't work for me.
I have right alt as layout switcher, btw.
Have you tried qxkb ?

I also experience the delay in keyboard layout switch in Gnome 3.6.

I only hope that this will be fixed in gnome 3.8 (Release schedule). Otherwise I'll think of moving to another DE. This is a very annoying issue.
It would not be so bad, if they didn't remove ability to set layout per application(or window).

So basically there are two issues.
The first one is that switching is very slow. I solved it by making X handle keyboard layouts instead of gnome.
The second one is that the layout is not remembered per windows. I solved it by using sbxkb (which is also a keyboard layout indicator).
After doing so, i realized that gnome is not helping me to be productive. In fact, i found myself using the same configuration i used prior to switching to gnome couple of months ago.
So now i'm back to openbox, tint2 and friends.
