[SOLVED] Problems updating to filesystem-2012.12-1

At first a pacman -Syu halted with

[2012-12-07 12:56] userdel: user dbus is currently used by process 202
[2012-12-07 12:56] groupdel: can't remove primary user for user "dbus"

Process 202 is

dbus 202 0.0 0.0 3092 1416 ? Ss 12:49 0:00 /usr/bin/dbus-daemon --system --address=systemd: --nofork --nopidfile --systemd-activation

And it all halted with "Error executing command ... (something). It hang.

I then removed /var/lib/pacman/db.lck and installed the new dbus without fault. I then tried to update filesystem again but that too hangs at "Checking for file conflicts." Then I tried to reinstall to previous filesystem-2012-11-1 but that hangs too at the same point.

I have not tried to reboot yet. There are several packages to update;

pacman -Qu
dnsutils 9.9.2-1
file-roller 3.6.2-3
filesystem 2012.11-1
gtk-update-icon-cache 2.24.13-1
gtk2 2.24.13-1
hwids 20121125-1
isl 0.10-1
linux 3.6.8-1
linux-headers 3.6.8-1
linux-lts 3.0.53-1
linux-lts-headers 3.0.53-1
talloc 2.0.7-1

But I don't dare yet. Pacman.log gives no further clues so what can I do?

Are you sure it "halted" or did it wait for you to choose "Y" to continue?  I had a similar message but was able to let the pacman update continue without any problems. Also see my post at the thread https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php … 0#p1203120 at post #78

Re: [SOLVED] Problems updating to filesystem-2012.12-1

It hung until I quit the terminalapp, like 15 minutes.

Couldn't wait any longer, did a reboot and filesystem updated ok.
