Catalyst-dkms vs Vi0L0's catalyst

Hello. The title speaks for itself. I've noticed very poor performance in video playback on the community catalyst-dkms driver. Will this go away with the catalyst driver from Vi0L0's repository? It's more up to date, and it works with XvBA.

Does anyone have any firsthand experience? Thanks.
