[SOLVED] Displaced screen using xf86-video-intel

Plymouth is the culprit here. Removing it, Xorg is then able to use the intel driver.

Last night I upgraded all my packages and when I woke up this morning my desktop looked something like this:

The screen is displaced and the last messages from systemd before X is started is displayed in the lower left corner.

Now looking at what I actually updated, I had some ideas to what might have cause this.
I went ahead and downgraded: mkinitcpio, util-linux, linux and headers, xorg-server and xorg-server-common.

Rebooted...

The same exact thing happened, no change Then I added i915 to the kernel modules variable in /etc/mkinitcpio.conf.

Still no change. I even tried to set ´i915.modeset=1´ at the kernel line during boot and it did nothing at all either.

If I completely turn off KMS (nomodeset) the screen appears as it should, but visual effects are very slow.

´lspci -k´ tells me I am using i915 as driver. However looking at the Xorg log I get this http://sprunge.us/OiNc
To me it seems as if vesa is the loaded driver.
Additionally the log says it falls back to old probe methods for modesetting and fbdev.

I'm running out of ideas to what might be the issue here. Do You have any ideas?

For some additional information, here is what I use:
Gnome 3.6
Linux 3.7
Xorg 1.13
rEFInd 0.5

Hybrid graphic cards, Intel and Nvidia
