Intel HD3000 (i5-2500k) besides Nvidia GTX570 (no hybrid/bumblebee)

Hey folks,

I'm still quite new to arch, but in most linux-problems I know my way round.

But regarding this specific situation there seem to be some issues about which the wiki or google can't tell me what I need. The main problem is that the propriatary nvidia drivers replace the "ligGL" which is required for almost any other graphics driver which includes the xf86-video-intel.

So if you install one of the drivers via pacman, you remain unable to install the other one because of the conflicts with libGL. When installing xf86-video-intel for the HD3000 first and manually install the nvidia drivers yourself, the HD3000 will be broken. Doing it the other way round you will overwrite the nvidia libGL version with the intel one and according to that your nvidia gfx card won't render anything.

I'm confused whether it's only me having this kind of disaster and looking for some answers. Hopefully there are some people out there who have some different ideas or even a proper solution eventually.

Edit: If you are curious WHY I want to use the HD3000 besides the GTX570 the answer is quite simple: I got a triple monitor setup from which one monitor is supplied by the HD3000, the other two are running by the GTX570.

a little help for start: I used nouveau instead of the proprietary NVIDIA driver, as it doesn't conflicts with the Intel driver's libGL.
