Accidentally I came across qmplay2 on Windows XP, and found it is quick to start, but seems lighter. It has 3 drivers: directx, opengl, qpaint. Of course directx is the best choice under Windows XP. I just found its seek speed is very fast, the same as mplayer. Whenever I seek any position, it plays that position immediately. Only found one menu translate mistake.
However, I found it seems not based on mplayer, since it needs no mplayer during compiling.
Maybe it is a newly create player based on ffmpeg? I know just 3 types players based on ffmpeg: Mplayer, VLC, xine(dead of course).
