I used tu use pure ALSA setup but recently I installed PulseAudio. Generally, it works, but there are two issues:
1. I have Mute/Volume Up/Volume Down buttons on my laptop. The problem is with Mute buttons - it does mute, and then unmute, but upon unmute, only the OSD symbol changes to unmuted. The Output Device remains muted (on Alsa it worked just fine).
2. When I setup microphone and start recording, recording volume goes down automatically in Input Devices as I begin to speak. It goes down in few steps until it settles around 25%, no matter how high I set it initially. This can be a problem if I need to set microphone to be more sensitive - it will not stick!
