Yes, I can confirm it's nearly totally random.  The trigger is when the browser switches pages.  I just clicked on a link, and bam, firefox vanishes.

Are you running Noia Extreme theme?  It's a full-skin package, and I get the feeling it is susceptable to stability issues, b/c I can definately remember having issues in the past when firefox revisions outpace the latest theme.  I just can't remember exactly what the issues were...

I've uninstalled the theme, and so far I've been trying to reproduce the problem by having several tabs and page history to thumb through rapidly.  Nothing yet...
I'll give it a couple days and see what becomes of it.

I use the default theme, but if your firefox is working, that's great.

Re: Firefox disappears if you use the go-back button...???

Another thing is, I noticed that there is a setting somewhere where if you hit the mouse-wheel (usually by accident), it will change your desktop number for those desktops that have several "faces" or whater, don't know what it's called. It will appear to "erase" your desktop, but if you move through them, you will find the one you were on.   See, the thing is, I automatically thought that might have been the cause when I first had the problem, but I checked to see if that's what was happening, and it wasn't.   My manager is fluxbox, and it was in one of the system menus.   Turned mine off.  Maybe I wasn't really paying enough attention to what was happening, and this is the entire source of the problem.   Sounds like a good idea at first, but I don't know if it is in practice.  Seems there ought to be a hotkey instead of accidentally brushing the mouse-wheel and desktop disappears.

I'm gonna have to do more testing to narrow it down.  Maybe reinstall Noia, and see if I just flubbed up in diagnosing it.  Hope you get it fixed, guy.

What's needed is a mouse wheel with some resistance, where turning it past a certain point requires a degree of effort. Most mice these days implement that, in fact.

Probably true...seems more reasonable, I agree.  Stupid microsoft mouse.

I'll have to consider what the mouse-wheel feels like when purchasing a new one.
