QTParted - a Partition Magic clone

Whenever I partition my HDD I am using Windows Partition Magic... one of the reasons I am still holding Win'98 on my machine. On Win-Lin-Soft website I found QTParted; a Partition Magic clone. AL has the concole version Parted. I am interested in GUI.

http://qtparted.sourceforge.net/
http://linuxshop.ru/linuxbegin/win-lin-soft-en/

I tried building an AL package but libreiserfs is missing. ALs' reiserfsprogs-3.6.11-1 doesn't have this library file (/usr/lib/libreiserfs).

checking for reiserfs_fs_create in -lreiserfs... no
configure: error: *** reiserfsprogs library (libreiserfs) not found

Tried to build from src (progsreiserfs) but failed.
http://ftp.tuniv.szczecin.pl/pub/linux/ … breiserfs/

Any solution?

Re: QTParted - a Partition Magic clone

I installed the rpm version of qtparted with rpm package in incoming (rpm-4.0.4-1.ok.tar.gz)
http://qtparted.sourceforge.net/forums/ … c.php?t=36

It seems to work except cannot resize or move ext3 and reiserfs partitions. Fat and ext2 is ok though I have not yet "dared" to try smile. I am planning to buy a new HDD, then I do the test. Mean while I will try to get the "resize" and "move" option visible. If this work, then files generated by rpm can be compiled to an AL package.

Sorry, forgot to login (Guest)

I found the reason, ext3 cannot do resize because its not supported in ver. 0.4 (in 4.1 will do). To resize, first convert to ext2.

I did the test resizng FAT32, create Ext2 and resize, convert to Ext3 and Reiserfs (jfs). Everything works as its suppose to do, its good. I am adding it to AL-AMLUG Live CD 0.3 to partition Hard Disk before copying CD to HD.

Uploaded in incoming.
