Touchpad: cursor continues moving when finger stops

On my Acer Aspire One 722 netbook, my touchpad is exhibiting a slight inaccuracy. I think what may be happening is my cursor is lagging behind my finger movement on the touchpad. When I stop moving my finger, the cursor keeps moving slightly. This is extremely frustrating because when I try to click on something I have to slow down or else the cursor will slip past the target.

Any ideas?

Re: Touchpad: cursor continues moving when finger stops

A few questions:

- Did this happen recently or has it always been like that?
- Do you use a custom synaptics config?
- Does this occur on other OS'es?
- Are you using a WM or a DE?

I had the same problem then I installed synaptics.  pacman -S xf86-input-synaptics

It's been like this since I've installed Arch on it.

- Do you use a custom synaptics config?
Nope.

- Does this occur on other OS'es?
I'm not sure how it worked in Windows before I wiped it.

- Are you using a WM or a DE?
I've tried this in subtle and monsterwm. Also, I use synaptics.
