I just intsalled the latest media on my Asus 1005PE netbook. I followed the steps in the wiki and after I rebooted I got half a screen of 99. I tried to retrace my steps atttempting it twice with the same result.
I then intsalled Archbang to make sure it was not a hardware issue and that came off without a hitch. I have never seen anything like this before. Any ideas ?

Could you give a more specific info? Perhaps a screenshot/photo of these errors?

It booted into a screen filled with pairs of 99's filling about 40% of the screen. This ocurred just after memory and drive checks.

henk,
Thank You for digging up the archives for me. Now that I had a better idea of where I got fat fingered in the process I took another swing at it and viola..... Up and going. Now I am working on configuring , installing and tweaking.
Thanks again
