Major instability after upgrade

I use qingy as boot manager, worked before, now it isn't working.

also, after a few minutes after login (10-20 min) the screen starts  to flash and then it closes X, and then i have to reboot. (i really can't see the error msg because after the nvidia module is loaded i can't return to a non X terminal (ctrl alt F1-6) without getting a distorted screen. this is a known problem with nvidia, right?

thanks!

this upgrade is not so flawless with me sad i wish i had my system back

Re: Major instability after upgrade

Do you use the stock kernel? Me and various other had problems with it after the big update. Try to compile your own one, I use 2.6.12-mm2 on my notebook and 2.6.14-rc3 on my dektop without any problems. After compiling and booting the new kernel you'll have to reinstall the nvidia package...

greetings
