Need a bit of help with font rendering

Hey guys,

I just bought the pragmata pro font and installed it on my terminal (termite), however, as you can see from the image below, it doesn't seem to render correctly:

You can see the same problem here (allbeit less pronounced because of the inverted colours) in font-manager against a white background:

I'm not entirely sure what to do about it?

How have you configured your font rendering if at all? See:

I can see the subpixel artefacts right away; looks like your anti-aliasing / hinting settings don't play nicely with that font. For a quick fix you could try installing the Infinality patches for freetype2 and fontconfig, available from AUR. I use the -ubuntu ones myself.

Hey Guys,

I tried the ubuntu config, but it doesn't seem to make any difference:

- I ran pacaur -S freetype2-ubuntu fontconfig-ubuntu cairo-ubuntu
- I used the "sharp fonts" config from here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Fo … g_Examples

And temite looks like this:

So there is an improvement, but it's not quite perfect yet! The question is, am I going to get better results by tweaking what I have now, or by going with another kind of patch? Could you give me some pointers in the right direction (can you tell I know nothing about font rendering!?)

Does the font display correctly in other programs (text editors, different terminals, etc)?

In font-manager I see the same thing . I wish I could change the colour of the background and font to pronounce the problem in font-manager, but it's definitely there!
