Sony VPCSC Touchpad shows up as generic Mouse - Cannot disable

shows up via evdev under /dev/input/mouse2 (USB mouse shows up as same type of device as /dev/input/mouse0)

/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-synaptics.conf exists, but synaptics driver does not load because touch pad shows up as:
I: Bus=0011 Vendor=0002 Product=0005 Version=0000
N: Name="ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse"
P: Phys=isa0060/serio1/input0
S: Sysfs=/devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input14
U: Uniq=
H: Handlers=mouse2 event14
B: PROP=0
B: EV=7
B: KEY=70000 0 0 0 0
B: REL=103

I had the same issue on debian and just wrote a bash script to turn it on and off physically. Was hoping I could get the system to see the touchpad as a touchpad and not a mouse so my FN key works (it registers and has a graphic, and even toggles the touchpad on/off applet). Not sure what other output to provide, it is not showing up in lspci or lsusb.
