Got a new laptop with the Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6235 - 802.11A/B/G/N Wireless LAN chipset, Arch automatically detects the correct chipset and selects the iwlwifi module. Everything seems great but when I scan for networks with wicd nothing shows up. Ideas?

I have this card. Do you have the firmware for it?
Edit: also in the future, your post there is a little weak. If you want real help, not just someone like me totally guessing, you need to provide as much information as possible. As it is, you have the wireless card model, and "it doesn't work". That is really not nearly enough to go on, and really indicates no effort on your part to have tried to solve this problem on your own (or with the google).

Try
rfkill unblock wifi
Then
sudo ifconfig wlan0 up
If this doesn't work, then give us some information
output for:
lsmod
sudo rfkill list
ifconfig -a
Another suggestion would be to rmmod your wifi and modprobe it back to see if it works.
EDIT: SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not possible due to RF-kill <---- this is your problem btw
