I upgraded my kernel to 2.6.13 and now my wireless doesn't work. Everything was the same in /etc/conf.d/wireless and /etc/rc.conf. I am not sure why it is not working.

I read the entire thread and it didn't help me. I have an Orinoco card.

"Doesn't work" doesn't help. What have you tried? Is your card still recognised? Is the required module loaded? What does iwconfig give you? Can you configure it manually?

Ok, then try this:

Soloport, if I downgrade to the 2.6.12 kernel, then this will not answer my questions regarding the problems that I am having.

This is bizarre. If I enter the command "cardctl ident," I receive the following output:
no pcmcia driver in /proc/devices
This is what is happening. The pcmcia service was executed, the wifi kernel modules were loaded, my wireless is configured properly, and the network daemon is working because my eth0 "ethernet" device is working. It must have something to do with pcmcia. My iwconfig information used to display working configuration data but now this is what it displays:

orinoko card is bugged in 2.6.13, i think .4 release has a fix for this card,
try abs for building kernel 2.6.13.4, it's really easy just change 2.6.13.3 to 2.6.13.4 and type makepkg -c.
i'll try to upgrade the kernels this weekend.

You asked a question?

I compiled and installed a new kernel. The wireless card still does not work. I am going to downgrade to 2.6.10 again to see if this is a kernel issue. I have a couple questions before I proceed, why did lilo show up on my screen when I attempted to boot the new kernel? I never installed lilo because I use grub. How do I install grub in the mbr again?
