[Solved] mkinitcpio error - no space on device

Ok so I updated my system yesterday and unfortunatly after a restart it kernel panic'd, claiming "can't find init="

I followed the instructions

The lvm2 initramfs hook now requires the udev hook

check

The use_lvmetad = 1 must be set in /etc/lvm/lvm.conf.

check

Now after I added "lvm2" to the HOOKS array my mkinitcpio -p linux command failed, claiming "no space on device". I searched around my partitions and (as expected) have more than enough space. Unfortunatly here my computer shutdown as I had forgotten to plug in my power cable the previous night, after turning it on I get the kernel panic mentioned above and I gave myself a good kick for not noticing the power issue.

I am currently using my girls laptop to download the latest arch and will dd to a USB and chroot into my system inorder to remake init.

So my question is, is the error I recieved in the process stemming from adding lvm2 to the HOOKS array? Or is there some other reason I would suddenly receive these errors? I've never had them before this update. I realise there are a couple of thread on lvm topics already, but nobody seemed to be having the same issue as me.

Any info or direction on this would be a great help

Fixed the problem,

Booted in with an Arch Emergency Stick, mounted and chrooted

Remade the initcpio, minus lvm2 HOOK. No problems this time, strange.

Everything is golden, marking as solved
