smplayer and vlc crashing because of ffh264vdpau codec

Hi

After the ffmpeg update today  I tried to open a h264 video in vlc and smplayer and both crashed. In smplayer I get the following log

- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.

After trying a few different configs I concluded that if the ffh264vdpau codec is not used everything is ok, no crash in mplayer. In vlc when gpu acceleration is disabled there is no crash too.

Is this a known problem? Should I file a bug report?

Re: smplayer and vlc crashing because of ffh264vdpau codec

Now I see that this was already reported in this forum https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=158303

Moderator please delete this post as there is no need of two about the same problem....
