[SOLVED] Install ATi HD 4870 crossfire

Hi,

I have 2 ATI HD 4870 cards, I'm using the open source driver, but these don't support crossfire and the catalyst driver from AUR doesn't support my card, I tried downloading the official driver from ati.com but it failed too:

Failed to insert fglrx: No such device
No supported display adapters were found.

Is there ANY way to install my cards with catalyst? Like a older driver from ATI.com? Please help me out!

Cheers

Are you sure you are using catalyst-legacy together with Xorg 1.12?

Re: [SOLVED] Install ATi HD 4870 crossfire

Thanks! catalyst-hd234k with Xorg 1.12 works.

So I started gnome, started AMD CCC and enabled Crossfire, rebooted, and started gnome again, but now my mouse isn't working anymore.... I'm not a expert n xorg, can someone help me out with this?

BTW: I have about 2000 FPS more now with glxgears big_smile

Re: [SOLVED] Install ATi HD 4870 crossfire

So I try to enable the ATI Events Daemon with

systemctl start atieventsd

but I get

Failed to issue method call: Unit atieventsd.socket failed to load: No such file or directory. See system logs and 'systemctl status atieventsd.socket' for details.
~]$ systemctl status atieventsd.socket
atieventsd.socket
Loaded: error (Reason: No such file or directory)
	  Active: inactive (dead)

Searched google and the forums couldn't find anything. How do I fix it?

EDIT: Reboot solved my problem.
