HP NC6400 laptop, video not working (X1300 mobility)

I am new to Arch, successfully installed it.
Sound ,wi-fi every thing works but cannot get 'video' to work.
Cause of this i have to start using 'nomodeset' option, without it boot hangs.

I have 'xf86-video-ati' installed.

Output of: lspci | grep VGA
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI M52 [Mobility Radeon X1300]

Please help... I can any log on demand.

Ok i got graphics to work, but only manually, with 'modprobe radeon modeset=1'
is there anyway i could set it to work from kernel?

I find this weird, modeset should be the default. Yes, you should be able to set it from the kernel: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ke … mmand_line

ok i found a work-around, i made a new grub config and used 'nomodeset' and installed this service starter.

i hope arch update won't break this config.
BTW thank to both of you guys, Arch community never let you down. People say arch community is arrogant i say otherwise.
