I'm running KDE as the DE for my archlinux installation and my music player of choice is clementine. Clementine uses gstreamer to play its files and the good-plugins are needed to play flac files. As a dependency for the gstreamer good plugins there is gconf (and hence GTK3) and I was wondering why. I get a dbus error when installing/uninstalling.
(gconftool-2:2815): GConf-WARNING **: Client failed to connect to the D-BUS daemon:
/usr/bin/dbus-launch terminated abnormally with the following error: No protocol specified
Autolaunch error: X11 initialization failed.
Thanks

According to the following threads, use the command

to solve it.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I'm not having any problems everything works fine and clementine quite happily plays anything I throw at it.
I was just interested. I noticed in CHAKRA they don't have these dependencies and so was wondering why they exist in arch. Ideally, as I run KDE, I would rather not have gconf installed.
Thanks

You can use https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/gstr … gins-slim/ from AUR instead
