Until yesterday I could play .mp3 files in Audacious. However today when I tried to play my .mp3 music Audacious refused. I tried to open a .mp3 file from CLI and got following:
$ audacious /home/xxxxxx/01.mp3

I then checked my /usr/lib/audacious folders and I have all the .so files (plugins) from the above code. I have tried to reinstall audacious and audacious-plugins, I also uninstalled and reinstalled libmowgli but that didn't help.
I request the forum to help me interpret the above code and guide me to a resolution of the problem.
Thanks...
EDIT: Audacious plays my .flac files alright.
EDIT2: I have deleted ~/.config/Audacious and it did not help.

Maybe this sounds like an stupid question but, do you have mpg123 installed? Also, have you tried to delete "~/.config/audacious"?
Best regards.

Yes, I have mpg123 installed and I have tried to delete ~/.config/audacious... I have also tried to reinstall mpg123 but nothing. I don't think, however, that mpg123 is needed to play mp3. Earlier Audacious worked fine without mpg123. I only installed it after the issue.
Edit: typos.

Cannot confirm this; using audacious v3.3.4-1 and mpg123 v1.15.1-1.
Is your system up-to-date? Can you play mp3s in another program?

My Arch is up-to-date and yes, I can play mp3 in VLC, the only other player I have.

Okay, I just reinstalled all the three packages, ie, audacious, audacious-plugins and mpg123 and guess what? Audacious is playing my .mp3's again.
I wonder what may have caused audacious not to play 'em in the first place. Any ideas?

No idea, maybe a file or something got corrupted by a power failure?
