Hi,
when my ram usage reaches ~4700MB (7987MB total) my system gets horrible slow and freezes until the oom-killer triggers and kills some applications (or one specific application).
FYI: I have no swap partition.
htop and "free -m" shows me that there is > 3GB free Ram left.
Can somebody explain to me what happens on my system?
I could understand it if there were no free Ram left but thats not the case. Maybe i don't understand the numbers but i would like to know what happens.
Here is the latest oom-killer log: http://wklej.org/id/966822
Thx in advance,
Greetings,
Andy

I found the solution myselfe reading this:
http://serverfault.com/questions/141988 … n-teardown
Especially the answers to the first comment.
TLDR: The behavior is perfectly normal.
