[SOLVED] Best way to use 2 different nvidia cards

Hello,

I have a Nvidia GeForce 9800GT graphics card by EVGA. In a day or two, a friend will give me his 9500GT. I can't SLI, so I found out that I could split the Physx engine. However:
1. Will I say any difference with the second card and physix splitting?
2. Can I do anything better, such as hackish SLI?
3. I play some games inside a VM (virtualbox). Will I benefit with the Physix splitting?

Thank you
Edit: My question is: what is the best way to use those 2 cards for best performance? (OpenGL performance, for gaming)

For best performance in VMs? Look into PCI passthrough. Though it's my understanding that nVidia cards are problematic.

As far as i know ( i may be wrong) nvidia does not support phisyx with GPU on linux

2. Can I do anything better, such as hackish SLI?

Possible scenario is to use virtualGL ala bumblebee style, but i am not really sure if its worth it.

3. I play some games inside a VM (virtualbox). Will I benefit with the Physix splitting?

Vbox- not really , if you are lucky enough to have CPU and MB that supports VT-d go ahead with XEN and pcipassthrough, and then yes you will benefit from it.

I don't know any game that would get benefit from Nvidia Physx (on Linux ofc). Physx SDK seems to be available to Linux http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PhysX
There wouldn't be a huge performance boost If you used 9500GT for Physx even on Windows

So, nearly no point of using the 9500, apart from XEN and pcipassthrough.

Well if you use multiple monitors its different story, otherwise yea that is current state of multi GPU, with btw may be different with Wayland.
