Today I wanted to reinstall eclipse, to get rid of some garbage that has accumulated over time.
So I just removed it.
pacman -Rs eclipse
And reinstalled it with pacman.
Now if i try to start up eclipse it asks which workspace I want to load and then gives me this error:
JVM terminated. Exit code=1 /usr/bin/java -Xms40m -Xmx512m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -jar /usr/share/eclipse//plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.0.v20120522-1813.jar -os linux -ws gtk -arch x86_64 -showsplash /usr/share/eclipse//plugins/org.eclipse.platform_4.2.2.v201302041200/splash.bmp -launcher /usr/share/eclipse/eclipse -name Eclipse --launcher.library /usr/share/eclipse//plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher.gtk.linux.x86_64_1.1.200.v20120913-144807/eclipse_1502.so -startup /usr/share/eclipse//plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.0.v20120522-1813.jar --launcher.overrideVmargs -exitdata 720005 -vm /usr/bin/java -vmargs -Xms40m -Xmx512m -XX:MaxPermSize=256m -jar /usr/share/eclipse//plugins/org.eclipse.equinox.launcher_1.3.0.v20120522-1813.jar
Does anybody know where this error could come from?
The best would be if I could totally remove eclipse from my system and just reinstall it from scratch.
I really need eclipse to work, so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,

Hmm. It seems, that it has been solved by itself.
I simply did another remove, deleted the user files in the home dir, cleared pacman cache an reinstalled again.
pacman -Rcns eclipse rm -r ~/.eclipse pacman -Sc pacman -S eclipse

I have the same problem, I hope I can solve it now
No, your idea didn't solve anything, I still have the problem Any ideas?
Update: and even with openjdk I have the same problem
Previously had it with Oracle's jdk
I have no ideas what to do, even deleted tons of things from workspace dir. And csrolling in the text editor crashes eclipse
