ALC280 Sound Chip - No Sound - Satellite P855-S5200

Hello, and thank you in advance.

I have a Toshiba Satellite, and I cannot get thte built in speakers to output any sound. I believe that the issue stems around the ALC280 Chip that is relatively new. When trying my computer with Mint I could only get sound to output through the HDMI output.

Here is some details output: http://pastebin.com/sNTDfGLV

I have tried several combinations inside of : /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

I found a ubuntu bug that seemed to focus on a kernel bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1017017)

I don't know where to find the corrosponding kernel for the current arch kernel, but the Linux 3.8 seems to mention the fix (http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Document … Models.txt). But all of those settings in the alsa-base.conf do not fix my issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Also, it seems that the HDMI output is the only output I am able to control.
