[SOLVED?] USB mount "special device /dev/sdXx does not exist"

Some weeks now i haven't been able to manually mount usb-sticks and similar on my system.

I have used the same and other usb-stick before without problem.

1, A "sudo mount /dev/sde1 /mnt/usb/" now gives "mount: special device /mnt/sde1 does not exist"

2. A blkid shows:

/dev/sda1: UUID="d470e1dd-1a26-4e26-8273-7d21701f4108" TYPE="ext4"
/dev/sda2: UUID="B2360CD3360C9B0D" TYPE="ntfs"
/dev/sda3: UUID="02709134-c074-4e66-8aa6-ed2d43a1cdf4" TYPE="ext4"
/dev/sda4: LABEL="Storage 01" UUID="E838C0F138C0C034" TYPE="ntfs"
/dev/sdb1: LABEL="Storage 02" UUID="F0985C41985C088C" TYPE="ntfs"
/dev/sdb2: LABEL="Backup & Temp" UUID="1C2417F22417CDA0" TYPE="ntfs"
/dev/sdc1: UUID="d4b8ac62-9fb2-4798-9ff3-d3e179ff253e" TYPE="ext4"
/dev/sdc2: LABEL="Storage 03" UUID="68FCEFC7FCEF8E1E" TYPE="ntfs"
/dev/sdd1: UUID="6d11e627-5b02-4384-a6e4-ab9b7ef6fd47" TYPE="ext4" PARTLABEL="largedrive1" PARTUUID="c1dff651-bed4-4d8e-83e0-1e185e6e2b7d"
/dev/sde1: LABEL="USB DISK" UUID="7C79-4A39" TYPE="vfat" # <------------ My USB partition is available here

3. It is also available as usual in cfdisk.

4. /mnt/usb has the same permission as the other - fstab-mounted partitions

    "drwxr-xr-x  2 root root"

5. I have up until now tried to stay away from all the "automount" magic and various systems and dependencies for that floating around,
thus i have no udisks, udisks2 or udiskie, and no polkit and so on.

6. I am on systemd per usual main Arch-setup right now, and i run an openbox session started manually with  xinit/startx.

Is there something regarding this that has changed anywhere the last couple of weeks somehwere?,
or is my use-case and setup not fitting for how something works right now,
or is it just some bug somewhere.

UPDATE - 7: I just now retried a "sudo mount" sometime later after writing this post, and now it just worked,
so it seems like something that used to happen instantly is heavily delayed?,
i would still like to learn what and be a bit wiser in the future if anyone has any ideas : )

I Have done some googling, but it haven't been able to find something helpful for my case yet, thus i post here for my fellow archers input : )

Did you type "sudo mount /mnt/sde1 /mnt/usb/"?

That's fine. i just hope i get to nail down what has changed and where.
perhaps there is not many of us not using all the auto-mounting stuff no more,
so this migh not get recognized/experienced a lot on this forum =/
