The February 2013 Steam hardware survey has been released and shows percentages for individual distros. Arch Linux 64bit is in 10th position (0.05%) which is pretty good IMHO considering everything above is either Ubuntu, Mint or a general Linux 64 bit.

It doesn't seem to detect I'm running Arch, unless it parses kernel version string.
Operating System Version:
Linux (64 bit)
Kernel Name: Linux
Kernel Version: 3.7.10-1-ARCH

what's more interesting: even though Windows is dominant (more than 94%), mac and linux have about the same share (nearly 2.5% linux).

It used to detect Arch Linux on my former installation. I reinstalled Arch to familiarize myself with UEFI boot. They don't parse the kernel that's for sure. On my previous installation running "cat /etc/lsb-release" showed the information used to determine the distribution.
Now "System Information" only reports Linux (64 bit) and there is no /etc/lsb-release on my system. Could be that a rather large chuck if not all of Linux (64 Bit) comes from Arch Users. Wouldn't really surprise me Arch is rather popular when I surf the Steam Forums I bet it rivals most Linux distros with popularity as their main goal.
