Sound input not strong enough..

My mixer is almost to the clipping point on output level, yet when i record the captures all the way up, the level recorded is way low! So im thinking its a software update issue since 2 weeks ago it worked fine...?

Re: Sound input not strong enough..

what exactly are you recording?

i have a guitar plugged into my line-in, and yes, the recordings are quiet. believe it or not, this is how sound is recorded. when you buy a CD, it's significantly louder because they boost the volume to the point of clipping. clipping is bad.

so, if you can't hear your recordings, you need to turn up your speaker amp. when you're done editing, you can increase the volume of the recording so it doesn't seem so quiet.
