I had a similar problem with iptables a while back. Turned out that I had upgraded the kernel but I hadn't rebooted yet, maybe the same will work for you?

Nice to know that you are running a custom kernel.
Run lsmod to really confirm that the modules are loaded.
Paste contents of /proc/net/ip_tables_names and output of strace iptables -nvL.

So they aren't loaded. Are you sure modprobe returns without any error messages? What's its exit code (run echo $? immediately after modprobe iptable-filter)? Is anything printed to dmesg?
Offline
nothing is returned after modprobe iptable-filter, 1 is returned after echo $?
Offline
nothing is returned after modprobe iptable-filter, 1 is returned after echo $?
Just to make sure, you are running the modprobe command as root, yeah?
Offline
yes, I just rebooted and runned it again and now echo $? says 0

I get a permission denied error now instead of "does not exist", any clue why? I installed all modules as root and i'm running ettercap in root terminal (It was working before I update my kernel to the duocore one from ck)
