[solved] How to install VMWare Player?

I tried to install VMWare Player as it's described in the Wiki, but didn't worked at all.
First /etc/init.d is an empty folder, I think Arch never used it. Can't install VMWare with an empty service scripts directory. I tried to set /etc/rc.d instead of it first, than /etc/systemd/system, but didn't worked. The error message I get when I try anything:

/etc/rc.d/vmware: Nincs ilyen fájl vagy könyvtár.

or

/etc/systemd/system/vmware: Nincs ilyen fájl vagy könyvtár.

Means no directory or file like that. I could start the vmware.service with systemctl which I created as the Wiki says, but no use.

I don't know what to do.

I followed the insturcions, but can't start anything. I even tried to install vmware-patch from the AUR, but the output I got is:

Patching vmware 5.0.2 for kernel 3.8.4
Patching vmware modules source code:
ls: *-5.0.2-*3.8.4.diff nem érhető el: Nincs ilyen fájl vagy könyvtár

Missing files, again.

How can I install VMWare Player?
By the way, here is the vmware-modconfig-25106.log:

NOTE:
Nincs ilyen fájl vagy könyvtár = no such file or directory
Nem sikerült a gyermekfolyamat végrehajtása = failed to execute child process.

What, so everyone's supposed to sleep every single night now? You realize that nighttime makes up half of all time?

Re: [solved] How to install VMWare Player?

I just installed Vmware player 5.0.2 a few days ago, which doesn't need any patches or manual change. After installation, it almost works out of box, only thing I need is to start /etc/init.d/vmware manually every time before running vmplayer, since I don't want to use "system.service" file described in the Wiki, but you could try.

Re: [solved] How to install VMWare Player?

Sorry I forget to mention, I have to run "perl -p -i -e 's|/sbin/(?!modprobe)|/usr/bin/|g' /etc/init.d/vmware /usr/bin/vm-support /usr/bin/vmplayer" once before running vmplayer, see the Wiki for reference.

Well... I'm embarrased now:

Would you like to check for product updates on startup? [yes]:

I assumed that /etc/init.d is the default setting and just hit an enter. Just now realized that I should try type it there. Big mistake. Thanks ganlu, if you don't write it that /etc/init.d actually is the directory it needs, maybe I'll never try it again with it. Big mistake. F*.

Should I ask the removal of this topic?
