"reboot" no longer reboots

I'm running x86_64 with multilib. The systemd "reboot" wrapper now no longer reboots the system, instead, it stops rebooting after this happens:

systemd-journald[146]: File passed too large. Ignoring.

Ctrl-Alt-Del successfully reboots the machine after this happens, but it's annoying that it no longer works automatically, at least on my system. The only packages I have upgraded since my second last reboot have been the following:

- linux
- lirc-utils
- nvidia
- nvidia-libgl
- nvidia-lts
- nvidia-utils
- pacman

I can only guess that this is related to the kernel upgrade from 3.8.4-1 to 3.8.5-1. Nothing else appears to be wrong. Here is some system info:

I'm using 4 drives in software RAID 10 for /, but that probably doesn't matter. This isn't a critical problem, but it would be nice to know how to fix it.
