I just install archlinux on my desk at home, but I got no sound..
I've installed alsa-utils and alsa-plugins, and when I run speaker-test I got:
[geckos@localhost ~]$ speaker-test
speaker-test 1.0.27
Playback device is default
Stream parameters are 48000Hz, S16_LE, 1 channels
Using 16 octaves of pink noise
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1022:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
Playback open error: -2,No such file or directory
[geckos@localhost ~]$
My user is in audio group, and run the same with root gives me the same results..
